BJP’s Diganta Ghatowar Wins Behali By-Election by 9,051 Votes
BJP candidate Diganta Ghatowar won the Behali Legislative Constituency by-election, defeating Congress’ Jayanta Borah by 9,051 votes. Ghatowar credited the BJP’s development-focused policies and strong support from the tea tribe and minority communities for the victory.
Congress’ Borah, who garnered 41,896 votes, called for fair counting and alleged political targeting through raids. CPI-ML candidate Lakhikanta Kurmi, who received 5,093 votes, criticized the BJP’s “communal politics” and blamed Congress for the failure of their alliance.
