Central Government Approves Rs 378.68 Crore for Rural Connectivity Projects in Assam
The Central government has approved the construction of 78 roads and 14 bridges in Assam under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) – III, with an estimated investment of Rs 378.68 crore. This initiative aims to enhance rural connectivity and stimulate economic growth in the Northeastern region.
The Ministry of Rural Development announced that the projects will cover a length of 563.67 kilometers. The improved infrastructure is expected to boost access to essential services like healthcare, education, and markets, thereby bridging the gap between remote villages and urban centers.
