Dispur issues a directive on hotel accommodations for state visitors

The State Government’s GAD (General Administration Department) has issued guidelines for state guests staying in state hotels.

Commissioner and Secretary, GAD, has issued a set of directives on accommodation and other facilities to all state guests in a letter to all district commissioners (DCs) and managers of a few hotels today.

According to the directives, the district administrations will provide room service to Union ministers and chief ministers, as well as lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant to officers of the rank of secretary and above.

They will provide basic lodging for all state visitors, with the exception of union ministers and chief ministers. If the basic rooms are not available, the guests should be given the next-category rooms at the same rate.

The directive specifies that the GAD will not bear the cost of spirits and laundry bills, which are the responsibility of the guests. It has also stated that hotels will separate the accommodation and food bills of state visitors and submit them to the GAD via district commissioners. When state guests arrive, district administrations should inform them of the facilities available to them.
