Gunfire Erupts as Forest Officials Confront Poachers in Kaziranga National Park

A tense situation unfolded in Kaziranga National Park as forest department officials clashed with poachers, resulting in gunfire that left one forest officer injured. The incident occurred near the Goroimari forest camp within the national park, where officials had received intelligence about poacher activity. During the confrontation, a gunbattle ensued, leading to injuries on both sides. One poacher, identified as Mun Ali, was apprehended, while another managed to escape. The recovered contraband included Pipli Seng fish, a highly endangered species. Efforts are ongoing to locate the fugitive poacher, with authorities intensifying their search.
