Guwahati-North Guwahati Bridge Set for 2025 Inauguration

The six-lane Guwahati-North Guwahati Bridge, under construction since 2019, is expected to be inaugurated between September and November 2025. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the likely completion by July, with inauguration plans during Durga Puja, potentially by Prime Minister Modi.

Built at a cost of ₹2,608 crore, the bridge will include a toll gate, exempting smaller vehicles but charging heavy tolls for trucks to reduce city congestion. Sarma also provided updates on the upcoming Guwahati Ring Road and a new elevated corridor to enhance road safety on the Airport-Jalukbari route.
