Husband Kills Minor Wife, Dumps Severed Head And Body In Jungle in Tripura

Police on Saturday produced 24-year-old Khayam Miah of Aralia area of Agartala in court seeking his custody for allegedly killing his 13-year-old wife. He had dumped his wife’s body parts at several places.

SP (West) Kiran Kumar said the victim has been identified as Tanuja Begum. Police launched the search operation soon after receiving a complaint from Tanuja’s relatives. According to the complaint, she had been missing since Thursday evening.

While Khayam was absconding, police found blood stains in the victim’s room. Forensic examination confirmed that the samples collected from the spot were human blood, Kumar said.

Khayam was arrested after a daylong search from Amtali area and during interrogation he confessed to the crime and revealed the location of the body parts. However, police have not yet confirmed the motive for the murder.

Local residents said because of her tender age, Tanuja was not able to manage the family and she was abused and tortured by her husband. She lost her parents in early childhood and about a year ago, she got married to Khayam, locals told the police.
