Landslide on NH-29 in Nagaland Kills Six, Strands Hundreds

A massive landslide on National Highway 29 in Nagaland, connecting Dimapur and Kohima, resulted in six deaths and left several others injured. The landslide, caused by heavy rainfall, occurred in the New Chümoukedima and Pherima areas. Over 100 vehicles and people are stranded, leading to a shortage of essential supplies in Kohima. The Nagaland State Disaster Response Force has retrieved six bodies, and road clearing is underway. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio expressed concern and extended condolences to the victims’ families, urging citizens to follow official advisories.
