Protests at Bongaigaon Refinery Over Dismissed Workers

Workers at Bongaigaon Refinery protested the dismissal of 16 labourers, accusing management of breaking a November 14 promise to resolve grievances. A 24-hour strike begins tomorrow at 8 am.

The protest supports a CITU-led nationwide movement against anti-worker policies and rising electricity bills from the government’s smart meter scheme.
