PWD Contractors Protest Fee Hike, Demand Rollback

Around 150 PWD Roads contractors from across Assam met recently to protest the sharp hike in registration fees. They urged the Chief Minister to revoke the decision. A convening committee was formed to create a State-level association, with another meeting planned soon. The fee hike, made non-refundable, has triggered resentment among contractors statewide.
