Science City at Sonapur to Be Completed by October 2025

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat reviewed the Science City project at Sonapur, highlighting its role in inspiring scientific temper among North East youth. He directed officials to meet the revised completion deadline of October 2025, emphasizing the project’s importance for research and innovation under Prime Minister Modi’s vision.

Spread over 250 bighas, the joint initiative by the Ministry of Culture and ASTEC will feature interactive exhibits, thematic galleries, and a Science Park. Addressing delays, Shekhawat assured progress is back on track, with support from IIT experts. The project aims to position the North East as a hub for scientific education and socio-economic growth.
