Temple Funds Embezzled by Former Officials in Bajali District

Two men, Anil Roy and Hitesh Pathak, allegedly withdrew a large sum from a temple fund in Raipur village, Bajali district, without informing villagers. The money, withdrawn from the Apex Bank of Pathsala branch in 2021, was intended for temple construction. The duo also used a fake chequebook to deceive villagers. The account now has only Rs 4,000. The incident was uncovered when other committee members checked the bank records. Villagers have requested the Bajali administration to investigate.
