Two new train services will be introduced to improve rail connectivity to the northeastern states

Two train services will be extended up to Silchar and Agartala, and two new train services will be introduced, in an effort to improve rail connectivity to the north-eastern states.

On October 19, train No. 15617/15618 Guwahati-Dullabcherra-Guwahati tri-weekly express will depart from Guwahati, and train No. 12514/12513 Guwahati-Secunderabad-Guwahati up to Silchar will depart from Silchar.

On the same day, train No. 07688/07687 Agartala-Sabroom-Agartala DEMU and extended service of train No. 12520/12519 Kamakhya-Lokmanya Tilak (T)-Kamakhya up to Agartala will be flagged.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, and Prof. Manik Saha, Chief Minister of Tripura, will be present at the Guwahati and Agartala Railway Stations, respectively, along with other dignitaries. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology, will also participate in the online launch. Local MPs and MLAs, as well as other dignitaries, will be in attendance in Silchar and Dullabcherra.
