Woman Detained in Guwahati for Derogatory Posts Against Zubeen Garg

The Guwahati Crime Branch detained a woman, identified as Sikha Sarma, for allegedly posting derogatory and defamatory remarks against Assamese cultural icon Zubeen Garg and his family on social media. The action followed a complaint by Garg’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg. Police registered a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. Members of the All Assam Zubeen Garg Fan Club also filed a separate complaint, calling the posts offensive and harmful to public sentiment.
