1,748 Assam Police officers fail the BMI test

  • Assam

The first phase of the Assam Police Body Mass Index (BMI) testing exercise concluded on Saturday, with the results for 70,161 personnel announced.

A total of 70,161 people were tested, and 1,748, or 2.47%, were found to be obese, with a BMI greater than 30. A BMI reading of less than 30 indicates that the personnel tested are fit, whereas those with more than 30 BMI should lower their reading. The 1,748 personnel with a BMI of 30 or higher will now be subjected to extensive testing at government medical colleges. They would also be given medical and nutritional assistance and tested again after three months.
