4.8 magnitude quake jolts Meghalaya

An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter Scale rocked Shillong city and other parts of Meghalaya at 10.16 am on Friday.

The quake was epicentred in Gopalganj area of neighbouring Bangladesh, according to the National Centre for Seismology. The tremors were felt in most parts of Assam as well. No loss of life or damage to property has been reported yet.
