A large consignment of Burmese areca nuts is recovered by a Special Task Force

The Assam Police Special Task Force conducted an operation at the Guwahati Railway Station, resulting in the seizure of a large consignment of illegal Burmese areca nuts.

The Special Task Force conducted an operation in the Agartala-Secunderabad Special bearing Train No. 07029 based on specific information regarding the transportation of suspected contraband Burmese beetle nuts. The operation was carried out in the train’s Waggon No- (VP) – 038320, and 499 gunny bags were seized. Each gunny bag contained approximately 45 kgs of contraband, bringing the total weight of the seized Burmese beetle nuts to 22455 kgs.
