Swallowing the Sun” by Lakshmi Murdeshwar Puri Unveiled in Guwahati

Former Assistant Secretary General of the UN and Ambassador, Lakshmi Murdeshwar Puri, launched her novel “Swallowing the Sun” at a hotel in Guwahati. In conversation with author and professor Bibhash Choudhury, Puri delved into the novel’s conception and its portrayal of love, valour, and India’s struggle for independence through three generations of women, particularly its heroine, Malati. The book launch was graced by Jahnabi Phookan, co-founder of Jungle Travels India and Assam Bengal Navigation Co., as the Guest of Honour, attracting literary enthusiasts and intellectuals.
