Delays in Jorhat-Dibrugarh NH Four-Laning: Gadkari Assures Swift Action

Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari cited raw material shortages, land acquisition delays, and contractor issues for the delayed Jorhat-Dibrugarh four-laning project.

Gadkari informed Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma that the project is divided into smaller sections across 11 contractors. Challenges include sourcing 12 lakh cubic metres of earth and 11 lakh cubic metres of sand, with key sections showing only 0-20% progress.

The NHIDCL has received strict instructions to resolve these issues and ensure timely completion of the decade-old project.
