Devastating Fire Destroys 15 Shops in Barpeta’s Shila Bazar

A fire broke out in Shila Bazar, Barpeta, early on November 26, destroying 15 shops and causing losses worth several lakhs. The fire, suspected to be caused by a short circuit, started around 1 AM and spread rapidly.

Emergency services arrived two hours later, with Tarabari Police and SDRF teams working to control the blaze. Despite their efforts, significant damage occurred. Authorities are investigating the cause and assessing the total losses.
