DigiYatra System Enhances Efficiency and Security at Guwahati’s LGBIA

The ‘DigiYatra’ digital entry system at Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) is streamlining the check-in process and improving passenger convenience. Launched on August 19, 2023, as part of the Government of India’s Digital India initiative, the system uses biometric verification linked to passengers’ Aadhaar details, allowing seamless terminal access without traditional document checks.

DigiYatra reduces wait times, enhances security by minimizing human error, and frees up airport staff to focus on core security tasks. The airport’s team is working to expand the app’s use, supported by ‘Digi Buddies’ to assist passengers with the setup. This initiative reflects India’s push towards faster, safer, and more efficient air travel.
