Education Minister Unveils Key Reforms for Assam’s Schools
Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu announced initiatives to improve Assam’s education sector at Janata Bhawan. Key measures include recruiting 9,000 permanent teachers, prioritizing local language proficiency, and waiving admission fees for BPL students in Classes XI and XII.
The ₹18 crore fee waiver will benefit 250,000 students in 1,145 schools. The recruitment process will utilize the Shiksha Setu app for accurate data on subject shortages. Plans to outsource Grade IV roles and create educational videos for online learning were also highlighted.
