Guwahati’s long-awaited Botanical Garden finally opens to the public

The much-anticipated botanical garden on the Old Jail campus in Guwahati’s Fancy Bazar area has finally opened to the public. Except on Wednesdays, the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has announced that the park will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

They have also stated that entry will be free for children under the age of three, seniors over the age of 75, and people with special needs. The ticket price for children aged 3 to 10 years is Rs 20, and the rest of the population pays Rs 50. In addition, the park provides a variety of amenities and service options. These include a yoga centre, ponds, an old jail memorial, a footbridge, and a tower with an elevated view.
