In Guwahati, the Crime Branch raids a fugitive’s home and seizes vehicle in connection with a fake call centre

On Wednesday, the crime branch raided a residence and seized a vehicle used by the fugitive bureaucrat’s son who was involved in the fake call centre case. The fugitive, identified by the crime branch as Tasdiqur Rahman, went on the run immediately after the police raid, on the nights of September 14 and 15.

The police raid on eight call centres in the city, which were used to dupe people in India and abroad, resulted in the arrest of 191 people, including the three masterminds behind the fake call centre racket.
