Protest Erupts in Sonitpur Over AAGSU Leader’s Arrest

Tension flared in Sonitpur as AAGSU members protested outside Jamuguri Police Station against the arrest of their district president, Deepak Subba.

Subba was detained early Wednesday on forgery charges linked to a land dispute following an FIR by landowner Lal Bahadur Newar. Protestors blocked the police station entrance, demanding his release and alleging a conspiracy.

AAGSU members pledged to intensify protests until their leader is freed, while police upheld the arrest’s legality. Authorities have yet to address the protesters’ demands.
