The Assam government has increased wages for tea garden workers

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced a Rs 18 increase in their daily minimum wage for tea garden workers.

The decision, which takes effect on October 1, was made at a cabinet meeting presided over by CM Sarma on Monday night and will benefit workers in both the Brahmaputra and Barak valleys.
