1500 villages in Meghalaya do not have anganwadi centres
Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh informed the Assembly today that Meghalaya has 1,500 uncovered villages that are eligible for main and mini anganwadi centres.
Lyngdoh informed opposition MLA Miani D Shira, who raised the issue, that these 1,500 or so villages are being cared for under the Early Childhood Development Programme.
He also stated that the government has received a large number of anganwadi centre applications, which are being processed and will be sanctioned in due course.
