Ashmita Paul’s Solo Motorbike Ride for Women’s Empowerment

Nineteen-year-old martial arts athlete Ashmita Paul, hailing from Pandu, Guwahati, has embarked on a solo motorbike journey to Nepal to champion women’s empowerment. Supported by the Kamrup (Metro) District Women and Child Development Department under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme, Ashmita aims to raise awareness about this initiative during her ride. She becomes the youngest female biker from the North Eastern Region to undertake such a journey for a social cause. The flag-off ceremony, attended by officials including Sontosh Kutum, Social Welfare Officer of Kamrup Metropolitan District, marks a significant milestone. Covering approximately 2,500 kilometers, Ashmita’s ride will serve as both a test of her physical endurance and a platform to advocate for women’s rights and girl child education. Her journey is expected to inspire others and amplify the message of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign across regions.
