ASTC Launches ‘Rhino Food Xpress’ to Repurpose Decommissioned Buses

ASTC Chairman Pallab Lochan Das inaugurated ‘Rhino Food Xpress’ at ISBT, Betkuchi, under the ‘Alternative Business on Shut Down Buses’ initiative. The project repurposes decommissioned buses into small business spaces, offering opportunities for Assamese youth and enhancing ASTC’s financial stability.

Over 60 buses will be leased for five years across Assam for ventures like restaurants, pharmacies, or salons. ASTC Managing Director Chinmoy Phukan stated that lessees could customize buses at ASTC premises or other approved locations. Das emphasized the initiative’s role in economic growth and boosting ASTC’s revenue.
