NFR Implements Winter Safety Measures for Train Operations

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is taking proactive steps to ensure safe train operations during winter and foggy conditions.

Key measures include rail joint lubrication, cold-weather patrolling with GPS-enabled monitoring, and deployment of Fog PASS devices for real-time navigation. Advanced technologies, such as ultrasonic flaw detection, are being used to identify hazards, while signalling systems are being upgraded for operational reliability.

Emergency preparedness has been strengthened with staff training and mock drills. NFR Chief PRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma emphasized a commitment to safety, efficiency, and seamless passenger services during the challenging season.
