Guwahati Police use CC camera footage to apprehend a gang of mobile thieves

Guwahati Police was able to apprehend a gang of miscreants involved in mobile thefts in the city during an operation based on footage captured on a closed circuit camera.

Acting on a recent incident in which a person was captured on CC cameras while trespassing a home in the city’s Silpukhuri neighbourhood, Guwahati Police apprehended one of the miscreants of the notorious gang of mobile thieves that has been active in the area. After several days of evading the police, the police team was able to apprehend two other members of Gandhi Basti’s gang during interrogation. During this operation, the police team was also able to recover four stolen mobile phones.
