Meghalaya Govt to appoint medical professionals on a contract basis for a year

The Health department will recruit doctors and nurses on contractual basis to address the shortfall of manpower in the government-run hospitals across the state.

Ampareen Lyngdoh, the minister of health, revealed this following a review meeting with East Khasi Hills MLAs on Monday at the State Convention Centre in this city. She added that the department is figuring out how to push for the appointment of contractual doctors.

She claims that an advertisement for the hiring of 288 staff nurses on a contract basis for a year has been published.
