In drug-related cases, two people were arrested in West Garo Hills

Police in West Garo Hills have arrested one person after thwarting a drug smuggling attempt and recovering contraband items as part of their ongoing campaign against the drug issue.

Police were able to recover 260 grams of suspected heroin (the equivalent of 24 soap boxes) during the operation, along with 6 grams of polythene, and one cell phone.

A person was also arrested earlier on Saturday evening by CRPF members stationed at Phulbari, and drugs were found in his possession.
