Meghalaya states there are no plans to permit oil palm

Meghalaya’s agriculture minister, Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh, stated that the state will not permit oil palm cultivation because there is widespread opposition to it.

Instead, the State will concentrate on assisting farmers in increasing the value of their produce through export and value-adding.
