Meghalaya’s BSF seizes 42 lakh rupees worth of sarees that were being smuggled into Bangladesh

On Thursday, the Meghalayan Border Security Force (BSF) seized sarees worth Rs 42 lakh from being smuggled into Bangladesh at the state’s international border.

According to a statement from BSF Shillong, “On August 31, 2023, acting on specific information, vigilant troops of 193 Bn BSF Meghalaya seized clothing items, i.e., sarees worth Rs 42 lakh, which were meant for smuggling into Bangladesh from the international border of Meghalaya.
